For hundreds of years people sailed from Ireland to A Coruña in Northern Spain and walked the Camino to Santiago de Compostela from there. This inspiring crew, including a writer, artist and stonemason, began their own version of this historical 2,500km voyage in 2014. They rowed from West Kerry in a Naomhóg (a traditional West Kerry rowing curragh/boat) built themselves, following the routes of their ancestors.
“Donal O’Ceilleachair’s film is an inspiring tale of hardship and immense work”
Film Ireland Magazine
Pulling into coastal towns and villages en route, camping and cooking as they went, this eclectic crew forged many new friendships; surprising those they met with a boat that seems to come straight out of the middle ages.
Starring Oscar-winning musician Glen Hansard, traditional Irish musician Brendan Begley, artist Liam Holden, stonemason Brendan-Pháid Moriarty and writer and poet Danny Sheehy.
The film will be introduced by crew member and musician Brendan Begley who will be doing a Q&A after the film.
